Our Property

Cortijo el Papudo  has been carefully and lovingly restored to retain original features and charm from the days when the substantial white-walled settlement was the hub of a 1,500 acre cattle, cork and horse ranch.

Dating  from the late 1800’s, the  three sides of the Cortijo surround a delightful courtyard with palm tree and magnificent bougainvilleas,  its elevated setting catching the first and last sun and the breeze from North Africa.

Michael has over the years landscaped and planted many of the loveliest gardens in the area, using plants grown our own nurseries. Our own garden at Papudo, lush with colour and wildlife, is an example of what can be achieved under Spanish summer sun ... with an abundance of water.
